Addis Ababa-Ethiopia: The faithful of the Melo Leha Saint Michael Church located in the Goffa Zone of SNNP Regional State was unable to celebrate Epiphany nor the Finding of the True Cross, (UNESCO World Intangible Heritages), for four consecutive years because the land that was used by the Church since 1970 (1962 E.C) was forcefully taken by the local government which is dominated by Protestants.
Thence, the Orthodox faithful have been voicing their protest, while the rest of the country and the Orthodox world celebrated the Baptism of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Some of the slogans carried by the protestors read;
“The Government should remove its hands from the Church.”
“We believe in the one Holy Church.”
“Justice for Melo Leha Epipania Square.”
