Pan-Orthodox Christian Movement 

Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE (formerly know as Orthodoxy Beyond Limits Forum) in the month of June 2007. Inspired by Rt. Rev Kyriakose Thottupuram of Chicago, George Alexander, and Fr Thomas Geevarghese established the OBL Forum. Forum website was inaugurated by His Grace Mor Gregorious Gabriel of Trivandrum at Chicago in the presence of Chorbishop Kyriakose Thottupuram during the month of July 2007 at Chicago, USA.

Initially, it stayed as a forum broadcasting Orthodox Christian news and the unique nature of broadcasting news comprising both Byzantine and Oriental Orthodox Churches gained a worldwide readership. A Board was constituted which consisted of Chancellor, Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Secretary.

In 2010, Orthodoxy Beyond Limits was renamed as Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society with registration under the Indian Societies Registration Act. K. C. Jacob became the Chairman, and a 10-member governing board was formed. The administrative structure of the Society expanded with further structures.

In 2012 Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society celebrated five glorious years of United Orthodoxy Worldwide.

In 2014 the Society celebrated 7 glorious years of Pan-Orthodox Unity services.

Meanwhile, the Society continued to expand its services through increased Pan-Orthodox news service, research projects, publications, visiting and receiving the various Orthodox delegation, networking with various Orthodox and secular organizations.

In 2017, the OCP Society celebrated ten years of Pan-Orthodox unity services worldwide.

Since 2007, the society has engaged in several Pan-Orthodox Christian activities, which include meeting various Orthodox delegations, publishing books, campaign for persecuted Christian minorities, attending conferences, rigorous fieldwork research initiatives and so on. Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE is a major player in the Pan-Orthodox Christian movement.

January 2022 – December 2022

On 12 February 2022, the Director- Dept. of Public Relations and Information Services of the Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society was featured in the online session by Adebabay Media named “The State of the Orthodox Christian World”.

In March, then head of Greek Affairs & Eastern Orthodox Theology at Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Dr. John G. Panagiotou visited and discussed with Man of God’ movie writer/director Yelena Popovic in Los Angeles, United States.

OCP delegation visited Hieromonk Stephan (Igmnov) Secretary of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations on 27 July 2022 in Thrissur, Kerala, India. At the visit, the delegation on behalf of the OCP secretary presented a special felicitation letter to Department for External Church Relations – Moscow Patriarchate.

OCP delegation led by Dr. John G. Panagiotou, (then) head of Greek Affairs and Eastern Orthodox Theology of OCP Society was received at St. Nektarios Monastery in Aegina (Greece) on October 18, 2022.

On 31 December 2022, Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Chairman Dr. John G. Panagiotou visited His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem at the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem (Israel and Holy Lands).

Workbook Companion to the best seller “The Path to Oikonomia with Jesus Christ as Our Lighthouse” (OCP 2020) written by Dr John G. Panagiotou was published in September 2022.

OCP Society published a statement on the demise of Martyr of Dictatorship – Patriarch Abune Antonios of Eritrea on 10 February 2022.

OCP Secretary through its delegates presented a felicitation letter to Department for External Church Relations – Moscow Patriarchate for its cooperation with the OCP society and for its extensive work in the realm of Pan Orthodoxy.

OCP Media started ‘Orthodox World this Week‘ (Orthodox news in digital space), ‘Pan-Orthodox Round Table‘ and ‘Creative Orthodox Corner’. 

January 2021 – December 2021

As per the decision of the General Body held in October 2021, Mr Vipin Varghse was elected as the new Secretary and Spokesperson. Mr George Joseph was retained as the Chairman.

A webinar with iconographer Yulia Klishina from Ukraine was conducted on the Instagram platform (May 08,2021) . In addition to this, a new series based on the issues was started on the youtube platform with cross-posting to other platforms.

On 13th July a petition was submitted by the chairman to the patriarch of Romania requesting further Intervention in Human Trafficking Problems.

An online session titled ‘An Introduction to the Orthodox Christian World’ was delivered by Donn George Varghese (Director Dept. of Public Relations and Head of International Affairs of Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society) on the 24th of July 2021.

“The Path to Oikonomia with Jesus Christ as Our Lighthouse” written by OCP delegate Dr John G. Panagiotou has reached significant milestones on Amazon distribution. It reached #1 in the New Releases on Christian Orthodoxy category, #1 in the New Releases on Christian Stewardship category, and also became the top 100 Best Sellers category in both Christian Orthodoxy and Christian Stewardship.

OCP Spokesperson Condemned an attack against Romanian Orthodox Settlement in Jerusalem (February 2021).

A Briefing on ‘Persecution of Christians in Africa’ by OCP Secretary was published in Four Languages by I A O in its Bulletin no.23 of 2021.

“Patriarch Daniel and “The Resurgence of the Romanian Orthodox Church” Written by George Alexander and edited by Deacon Logan H. Polk was also published in January 2021.

A specially designed icon and the published book titled “Malankara Nasrani Research Papers” were gifted to His Holiness Marthoma Paulose II (Catholicos-Moopan on the Apostolic Throne of St. Thomas and Malankara Metropolitan) during the first week of February 2021.

OCP Chairman Calls for Support for Armenia and Artsakh on 6/10/2020 in the light of the aggression committed by Azerbaijan on the Armenian territory.

The special appeal by Mr George Alexander (Secretary) was aired on SPAS TV Channel during the panel discussion titled ‘ETHIOPIA – Persecution of Christians’ which was held on 28/09/2020.

OCP Chairman Greets Patriarch Daniel on the Occasion of the 13th Enthronement Anniversary on 30/9/2020.

Donn George (Editor – International Affairs) represents the OCP Society at the 27th General Assembly of Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (I.A.O) on 17/9/2020.

OCP Secretary Mr George Alexander issues a statement on the persecution of Christians in Nigeria and Ethiopia on 11/9/2020.

A statement was issued by Mr George Joseph – Chairman of the OCP Society on the conversion of the Orthodox Church of the Holy Saviour in Chora into a mosque by the Turkish authorities on 22/08/2020.

Donn George Varghese (editor – International Affairs) secures the second rank (second highest Grade) for Master of Arts in Political Science (M.A) from the Central University of Punjab (CUPB), Bathinda.

OCP Chancellor Chorbishop Kyriakose Thottupuram Celebrates 50 Years in the Priesthood in June 2020. A declaration was published by the OCP Chairman on the occasion.

A declaration was published by the Secretariat of Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE (Pan-Orthodox Christian Society) slammed the new anti-Church Law adopted by the Government of Montenegro on 4th January 2020.

Dr Rubin Khachatryan (Delegate of Yerevan & All Armenia met His Beatitude Patriarch-Archbishop Sahak Mashalyan of Constantinople on 2nd March 2020 at the event “The Firstborn – in a new way” which was held at the Vatche and Tamar Manoukian Library of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

A delegation of the Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Pan-Orthodox Society (Ben Kunjacko – Chief PR Officer, Linto Paul — Editor of Malankara Affairs and Afiya Biju — Editor of Malayalam Affairs) was received by Metropolitan Mathews Severious of Kandanad West of the Malankara Church on 9th March 2020.

A letter was published from the desk of Mr George Joseph (the Chairman of the Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society) to the Serbian Church in response to the alarming situation in Montenegro on 16th March 2020.

A declaration by Chairman George Joseph on the 50th anniversary of the Priesthood of Rt. Rev Chorbishop Dr Kyrikaose Thottupuram of Chicago, the Chancellor of Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE, Pan-Orthodox Christian Society was published on 25th May 2020.

A Letter of appreciation from Mr George Joseph (Chairman of the Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society) was sent to His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel and the Romanian Patriarchate over the charity activities undertaken by the Church of Romania during the challenging times of COVID 19. In response, the Romanian Patriarchate acknowledged the reception of the letter and thanked Mr George Joseph for the kind courtesy extended.

A Statement from George Joseph on Status of the Hagia Sophia Cathedral was sent to the Ecumenical Patriarch on 6th July 2020. In response, the Communication Department of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople has acknowledged the reception of the statement-letter.

Between November – December 2015,  OCP Delegation took part in Pan-Orthodox Christian gathering organized by the St. George Indian Orthodox Cathedral in Abu Dhabi–UAE. The Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society as represented by Prakash Varghese (Delegate of UAE, Gulf and Levant), Monu John (Special Envoy of the OCP Secretariat) and Nisha Jacob (OCP Associate). On behalf of the OCP family, Prakash and Monu presented Metropolitan Mar Elias of Brahmavar with the trio icon commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the 50th anniversary of the holy Adds Ababa Conference and the 51st anniversary of the Joint Commission for the Theological Dialogue between Eastern Orthodox Churches and Oriental Orthodox Churches. The Cathedral community was presented with OCP Icon of St Gregorious of Parumala.

In October 2015,  OCP Secretary George Alexander visits Sri Lanka and meets with Anglican and Roman Catholic Prelates. He also visits several important churches of late lamented Saintly Metropolitan Alvares Julius. OCP Delegation meets with Metropolitan Mariam Philipose of the Englise Syro-Francophone Church of France (An Unrecognized Oriental Orthodox Church in Indian-Syriac tradition). The OCP Icon of St Gregory gifted to the Metropolitan is venerated in France by the Church community.

Between March & July 2015,  OCP continued to cooperate with several Orthodox Churches and organizations. Exclusive news items continue to roll on OCP Media Network. OCP establishes a working contract with Sitrainfotect for web solutions. MARP publishes exclusive articles on the legendary Metropolitan Alvares Julius and also made several important archaeological discoveries.

In February 2015,  OCP delegation makes historic meeting with His Holiness Ignatius Aphrem II and the Syriac Orthodox delegation at Puthekurizhu. OCP becomes the first Pan-Orthodox Christian organization to meet Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II. OCP Media Network becomes one of the largest Pan-Orthodox Christian portals with over two million monthly readers worldwide.

January 2014-December 2014

In December 2014,   OCP-MARP initiative rediscovers the Cathedral of Alvares Julius in Colombo, Sri Lanka and establishes contacts with descents of the Singhalese Orthodox Christians. In the same month, OCP delegation met with Metropolitan Yulios Geevarghese Pulikotill of Ahmadabad of the Indian Orthodox Church presented him with the first premium edition of the pan-orthodox publication. Special envoy of the OCP Secretariat Monu John visits Coptic Orthodox Church in Cairo and meets with Prelates.

In November 2014,   OCP Delegation met with Prelates of Syriac Orthodox and Assyrian Churches in India. The delegation had an audience with Metropolitan Themothes of Kottayam and Mor Severious Archbishop-Metropolitan and Primate of the Knanaya Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church and with Metropolitan Mar Aprem of Indian of the Assyrian Apostolic Catholic Church. In the same month, OCP Publications released the first pan-orthodox publication titled Collected Writings on Orthodox Christianity: Various Aspects of Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches’

In October 2014,    a presentation and lecture on the Pan-Orthodox activities of Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society were held at the Westphalian Wilhelm University Münster (W.W.U.) on 19th September 2014. The Conference was part of the inter-university study programme on “Christianity in Asia” European Summer School – Intensive Study Programme (I.S.P.) The lecture was made by Ms Maria Sidiropoulou (M. Th. Student – Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.T.H.) – Greece. The lecture was part of the conference titled “Orthodoxy presence in Asia: Churches and NGO’s (Korea, Hong-Kong, Singapore, Japan, and India)” hosted by the Institute for Missiology and the Study of Theologies beyond Europe. The talk was made during the Student Research Presentation session. The Thematic Unit was ‘Cross-Cultural Flows and Pan-Asian Movements of Asian Christianity’.

In September 2014,   in the month of September, the OCP Foundation honoured Dr Christine Chaillot, the world-famous pan-orthodox activist. The event took place at Kottayam in Kerala were Christine was presented with the Defender of Orthodoxy Award for the outstanding contributions toward Orthodox unity dialogue.

June 2014 In the month of June the OCP delegation participated in the all UAE National Ethiopian Youth conference. OCP Secretary addressed the conference. Addis Ababa Conference portal featuring the details of the historic Oriental Orthodox meeting was inaugurated by the Ethiopian orthodox Prelates.

In May 2014,    in the month of May 2014, OCP Secretary on the invitation of Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (I.A.O.) to speak at the Mass Media Conference which was held in Thessaloniki Greece. Secretary George Alexander spoke on the subject ‘Seeking United Orthodox Christian Witness through Mass Media’. He urged for conciliar unity between Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches and called for creating international Orthodox Mass Media Centre. He was the only speaker at the conference from the ancient Oriental Orthodox communion as well as of the Indian origin representing India where he officially represented OCP Society. He also met with several Orthodox Prelates, journalist and dignitaries.

In February 2014,     during the first week on 1 February 2014, Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society Delegation received the representatives of various Oriental Orthodox Churches (Coptic, Armenian, Indian and Ethiopian) at Samanvaya Ecumenical of the Indian Malankara Orthodox Church. OCP delegates urged for increasing the phase of Oriental Orthodox Unity and creating a permanent secretariat for administration needs.

In November 2013,   OCP Media Networks reach two million regular monthly readers worldwide making it one of the most popular and largest Pan-Orthodox Christian News Portals. OCP delegate Ajesh T Phillip meets with Metropolitan Diascorous Yuhanon of Chennai of the Indian Malankara Orthodox Church discuss the action plans to be implemented to revamp the community of St Gregorious of Parumala in Dindigul.

October 2013    OCP Secretary George Alexander pays an official visit to Ethiopia, meet Patriarch Abune Mathias of Ethiopia, Greek Orthodox Archbishop Petros of Axum, Archbishop Abune Samuel (Head of the Developmental Commissions of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church) and Archbishop Abune Timotheos (Dean of Holy Trinity University College).

In May 2013,  OCP launch the portal of the Metropolitan Alvarez Julius Research Project, an exclusive project on the life and works of the Saintly Archbishop. Head and Chief Research Officer of MARP, Ajesh T Phillip visits Metropolitan Pulikottil Geevarghese Yulios of Ahmadabad of the Indian Malankara Orthodox Church and acquires official blessing note for the project. OCP publishes –OCEI – Orthodox Christian Educational Institutions worldwide, which is the largest ever list published online till date.

In November 2012, the OCP Society revamps administration constitutes a new administrative mechanism.

In October 2012, Head and Chief Research Officer of MARP,  Ajesh Philip discovers the lost Orthodox Community of Metropolitan Alvarez r Julius and St Gregorios of Parumala.

In September 2012, OCP Secretary George Alexander lectures at Orthodox Theological Seminary (OCP) of the Indian Malankara Orthodox Church and became the youngest person to lecture at OTS in its history till date.

In August 2012,  the OCP Society opens Wikipedia Page.

In October 2011,   OCP Media Network reaches one million regular readers monthly worldwide making it the world’s largest Orthodox Christin News Portal.

 In March 2011, June 2011 OCP Chairman meets with Metropolitan Mor Julius Hanna Aydin of the Patriarchal-Vicariate of Northern Germany of the Syrian Orthodox Church of Antioch and All East and also with the representative of Czech and Slovak Orthodox Church in Prague.

In February 2011, OCP Delegation have a historic meeting with the Syrian Orthodox Patriarchal delegation to India.

In January 2011, OCP establishes working relationships and alliances with a number of Orthodox Churches and organizations worldwide.

January 2010 – December 2010

In May 2010      Orthodoxy Beyond Limits Forum Changes to Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society registered under the Societies Registration Act. K C Jacob becomes the new Chairman and the governing board is formed with ten representatives. General Body, Executive Council, OCP Delegate Council, OCP Foundation, OCP Secretariat, OCP Associate Council and OCP Departments are erected.

 In March 2010 Forum submits a number of written suggestions to the heads of Oriental Orthodox Churches with regard to inter-Orthodox relations.

In February 2010, Forum delegation meets with His Holiness Aram I and the delegation from the Armenian Church.

In January 2010,  Forum Delegation meets Metropolitan Abba Seraphim and the members of the Eastern Christian Links at Cochin.

January 2009 –  December 2009

In November 2009,   OBL Forum Delegation pays a historic visit to the Brahmavar Orthodox Church and submits a report to the Holy Episcopal Synod of the Indian Orthodox Church on the conditions of the Brahmavar Church. It marked the beginning of the Metropolitan Alvares Julius Research Project (MARP).

January 2008 – December 2008      

Lejith George installed as the first Chairman, George Alexander appointed as the Secretary. Forum publishes the first-ever Orthodox Church Management Book.

June 2007- December 2007  (The Beginning)

June 2007 – Orthodoxy Beyond Limits (OBL) Forum founded by Fr Thomas Geevarghese and George Alexander. The website was inaugurated by Metropolitan Gregorious Gabriel in Chicago. OBL opens one of the first Pan-Orthodox Christian News Portal.
