Bucharest-Romania: Trinitas TV, the television station of the Romanian Patriarchate, has commenced high-definition (HD) broadcasts, starting on 18 October 2023, within the programming lineup of Digi subscribers (RCS RDS), the leading TV distribution service provider in Romania.

As of now, Trinitas TV HD can be found at the end of the digital channel lineup, specifically at position number 206. It will be relocated immediately after Trinitas TV SD at the beginning of the upcoming year.

To access Trinitas TV HD, subscribers will need to conduct a fresh, full program search within their TV settings. The SD version of Trinitas TV continues to be available in the digital, analog, and satellite line-up of the RCS RDS operator.

“This development represents a significant milestone for Trinitas TV for several reasons. Primarily, it ensures that Trinitas TV programs will be delivered in higher quality, with the image being 2.5 times clearer and more detailed. This enhanced viewing experience will reach approximately 5.4 million subscribers, as RCS RDS holds the dominant market share of 69% among a total of 7.85 million subscribers,” stated Gheorghe-Cristian Popa, general director of Trinitas TV.

“Furthermore, transitioning all productions from SD to HD format required a comprehensive reengineering effort for Trinitas TV, a process that began in 2018 under the leadership of then-general director Mr. Ciprian Olinici. This undertaking incurred significant costs, as it necessitated replacing core equipment such as mobile and robotic video cameras, video and audio mixers, graphics workstations, editing computers, archive servers, outside broadcast equipment, recording and playback devices, playout software, and more.”

“In addition, broadcasting Trinitas TV programs in HD format is a way to better serve our viewers. Market studies indicate that the current audience prefers watching TV programs in HD format due to the superior visual experience it offers,” noted the general manager of Trinitas TV.

Trinitas TV, the television channel of the Romanian Patriarchate, is available for free-to-air reception via the HELLAS SAT3 – 39° East satellite, as well as through various cable TV networks, DTH, and IPTV platforms. Online streaming is also accessible at www.trinitas.tv/live.
