Synod of Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric Completed Reunification

Ohrid- Macedonia: Holy Synod of Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric completed the full church reunification in Northern Macedonia on June 20, 2023. The final decisions and assigning diocese were led by Archbishop Stephen, Primate of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric. The full reunification was made with the help of the holy synod of Serbia which dissolved the Orthodox Archbishopric of Ohrid under the Serbian Orthodox Church.
As per the synodal decisions, the following diocese was allocated to the following hierarchy who reunited with the Holy Synod of Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric.
- HE. Metropolitan Jovan – Metropolitan of Krushevo-Demirhisar
- HG. Bishop Joakim – Bishop of Deljadro-Ilinden
- HG. Bishop Marko – Bishop of Delchevsko-Kamenichki
- HG. David – Vicar Bishop of the diocese of Skopje, with the title Bishop Dremvitski (under Archbishop Stephen)
Full reunification of the hierarchy in Macedonia was attained through peace between Serbia and Macedonia with the tomos of autocephaly.
