Polish President to Grant Honorary Patronage to 100th Anniversary of Polish Orthodox Church Autocephaly

Warsaw-Poland: The Chancellery of the Orthodox Metropolitan of Warsaw and All Poland has announced that the upcoming celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church will be held under the Honorary Patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda.

Polish Orthodox Church Announces Grand Celebrations for 100th Anniversary of Autocephaly

This announcement signifies the Polish government’s official recognition of this significant event for the Polish Orthodox Church. The Church gained autocephalous status, in 1924, following Poland’s regaining of independence after World War I.

The Metropolitan’s Office has requested that all informational and promotional materials related to the anniversary celebrations incorporate the official logo of the Honorary Patronage.
