Kyiv – Ukraine: With the blessing of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphrius, intercession fairs were held in the capital’s churches in support of the Defenders of Ukraine. 270,000 hryvnias were collected by the efforts of the parishioners of the capital’s churches and caring benefactors. This is reported by the Information and Educational Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church with reference to the “Church helps” Telegram channel .
“We are grateful to the clergy and parishes who participated in the fundraising. Joint good deeds unite the community. It is especially gratifying that the smallest parishioners took an active part in the holding of the fairs: children baked cookies, made various crafts, and most importantly – shared their concern for our defenders,” said the head of the Synodal Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church for social and humanitarian issues, Archpriest Serhiy Ekshiyan.
The funds collected will be used to purchase and transfer the means of technical support to the Armed Forces.
In addition, the necessary items of tactical medicine will be transferred to the needs of the medical unit created under the Military Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which evacuates the wounded from the combat zone.
