Tbilisi -Georgia: Georgia celebrated 45 enthronement anniversary of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia His Holiness Ilia II on December 25, 2022. Patriarch was visited and congratulated by the President of Georgia – Salome Zurabishvili, the Prime Minister of Georgia – Irakli Gharibashvili, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia – Shalva Papuashvili, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia – Giorgi.
Celebrations were made at a minimal level after the statement from Patriarch Ilia. Patriarch Ilia to Observe Enthronement Anniversary and His Birthday Without Celebration Due to Conditions in Ukraine and the World
Metropolitan Shio of Senaki and Chkhorotsku (Locum Tenens) led the liturgy that was held at the Trinity Cathedral on the special occasion.
Patriarch Ilia was enthroned as the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia on December 25, 1977, after the death of Patriarch David V.
