Serbian Patriarch Porfirije Announces Scholarships for Students in Kosovo and Metohija

Belgrade-Serbia: On December 13, 2023, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, as the chief guardian of the Sima Andrejević-Igumanov Endowment, disclosed the outcomes of the scholarship competition for students from Kosovo and Metohija. The competition, running from October 25 to November 1, 2023, attracted applications from 548 students, with 100 distinguished winners now revealed, according to the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Patriarch Porfirije, emphasizing the commitment to education, unveiled a substantial scholarship fund of 14,400,000.00 dinars for the academic year 2023/24. The scholarships will be disbursed in ten equal monthly installments of 12,000.00 dinars each, with two additional installments of 24,000.00 dinars each for May to August 2023.
The competition committee, led by Reverend Epsikop of Novobrdski, Mr. Hilarion, Prof. Dr. Jovan Radić, and Abbess Milena Vrućinić, played a crucial role in the meticulous selection process.
