Primate of Malankara Orthodox Church Venerates Relics of Saint Matrona of Moscow

Moscow- Russia: His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Mathews the Third, Catholicos-Moopan on the Apostolic Throne of St. Thomas and Malankara Metropolitan, visited and venerated the relic of Saint Matrona of Russia on September 4, 2023. This visit to the Intercession Monastery (Pokrovsky Monastery) marked His Holiness’s first visit to Russia since his enthronement. A grand procession led His Holiness to the Church in the monastery.
Abbess Theophania warmly welcomed His Holiness and the delegation on their arrival on September 3, 2023. Throughout their visit to Moscow, His Holiness, and the delegation will be accommodated at the monastery. They also took the opportunity to visit various parts of the monastery, including the nursing building and sewing workshop.”
Since his visit to Intercession Monastery (in 2019), former Catholicos- Moopan Marthoma Paulose II started venerating Saint Matrona as an intercessor.
