Metropolitan Daniel of Tokyo and All Japan Laid to Rest

Tokyo-Japan: Late Metropolitan Daniel of Tokyo and All Japan was laid to rest on August 17, 2023, at Yokohama Foreign General Cemetery after funeral services at Tokyo Resurrection Cathedral Church. The funeral services were led by Locum Tenens of the Metropolitan See of the Japanese Orthodox Church, Archbishop Seraphim of Sendai.

Metropolitan Daniel of Tokyo and All Japan – primate of the Japanese Autonomous Orthodox Church entered eternal rest on August 10, 2023, at the age of 85.

The funeral service was also attended by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Russian Federation in Japan G. A. Ovechko and the Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Tokyo Yu. V. Altukhov.
