Archimandrite Iakovos Andriopoulos Consecrated as Metropolitan of Mexico

Constantinople- Turkey: His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I consecrated Archimandrite Iakovos (Jacob) Andriopoulos as Metropolitan of Mexico at the Patriarchate on February 2, 2024.

The consecration ceremony was attended by members of the Holy Synod, clergy, and the faithful of the archdiocese, as well as diplomatic representatives.

Metropolitan Iakovos Andriopoulos of Mexico was elected as the successor to Metropolitan Athenagoras on January 24, 2024. Metropolitan Iakovos is 30 years old.
