Archbishop Mor Anthimos Appointed as the Patriarchal Vicar of Jerusalem & Holy Lands

Damascus – Syria: Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II of Syriac Orthodox Church appointed Archbishop Mor Anthimos Jack Yakoub as the patriarchal vicar of Jersusalem & Holy Lands Archdiocese on 28th July 2022 until a new archbishop is elected and appointed for the archdiocese. The archdiocese became vacant due to the demise of Archbishop Gabriel Dahho on July 21, 2022.

Archbishop Mor Anthimos Jack Yakoub was consecrated as the archbishop by Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II on March 9, 2019. He currently serves as the Patriarchal Vicar for Youth Affairs and Christian Education.
