Archimandrite Tychikos Vryonis Elected as Metropolitan of Paphos

Nicosia – Cyprus: The Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus elected Archimandrite Tychikos Vryonis as the Metropolitan of Paphos on February 23, 2023. The seat of Metropolitan of Paphos became vacant due to the election of its Metropolitan Georgios as Archbishop of New Justiniana and All Cyprus. Archimandrite Tychikos Vryonis got 15 in 16 votes in synod. The episcopal ordination of Archimandrite Tychikos Vryonis will be held on March 12, 2023, at the Cathedral of Apostle Barnabas in Nicosia followed by the enthronement in the Metropolitan Church of Agios Theodoros of Paphos.

Archimandrite Tychikos Vryonis was elected from the Triumvirate which was elected on February 19, 2023, which included,
- Archimandrite Tychikos Vryonis – 50.01%
- Archimandrite Ioannis Ioannou – 29.99%
- Bishop Amathountos Nikolaos – 14.57%

Total Voted – 13,519
Invalid Ballots – 168
Blank Ballots – 26
Number of Valid Votes – 13,325
Total Vote Percentage – 25.92%
