Three New Bishops Consecrated for the Syriac Orthodox Church in Guatemala

Guatemala City – Guatemala: Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II consecrated three new bishops for Guatemala on March 01,2024, at the St. Mary Cathedral in Guatemala city.

His Holiness consecrated Very Rev. Raban Marcos Manuel Caisedo Tenorio, Bishop of Western Guatemala, and Very Rev. Raban Andres Orlando Lopez Hernandes, Bishop of Central Guatemala, and Raban Wilfredo Jose Hortado Roez, Bishop of Northern Guatemala.

The consecration ceremony was attended by members of the Holy Synod, clergy, and the faithful of the archdiocese.

The consecration and the expansion of the diocese was made as per the synodal decisions in June 2023. Three Dioceses to be Created in Central American Archdiocese of Syrian Orthodox Church
