The Military Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Created a Medical Unit to Rescue Wounded Defenders of Ukraine

Kyiv – Ukraine: The Military Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, created a medical unit. Orthodox chaplains and believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church completed a full course of tactical medicine and providing first aid to the wounded.
Chaplains will soon go to the front, where they will save the lives of the defenders of Ukraine.
“Today, we – the military clergy and volunteers of the support fund for defenders of Ukraine in honor of Hetman Petro Kalnyshevskyi – are summing up the results of our training. Testing of the training of our defenders in the combat zone.
Now this is a very important mission, and we are grateful to His Holiness Onufry for blessing us and consecrating those cars that will go with us to the combat zone, on which we have the opportunity to provide first aid and save the lives of the defenders,” said the deputy Archpriest Vyacheslav Yakovenko, head of the Military Department.
We will remind you that on July 28 His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine consecrated an ambulance and a four-wheel drive minivan. The Primate gave his blessing to all those who help the defenders of Ukraine and called this kind of help today “the first charity”.
In the period from August 14 to 20, Transfiguration Fairs and other charity events will be held in support of defenders of Ukraine. Funds collected during charity events will be sent to purchase a medical evacuation vehicle for wounded servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
