The Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan Decorated with the Order of Alexander Nevsky

Astana-Kazakhstan: Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan was decorated with the Order of Alexander Nevsky of the Russian Federation by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, D.N. Chernyshenko at a meeting held at the administrative, spiritual and cultural center of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan on the 29th of January 2022. The Metropolitan was awarded the order for his contribution in the preservation and development of spiritual and cultural traditions, active educational and peacekeeping activities aimed at strengthening friendship between the peoples of Russia and Kazakhstan
On the occasion Metropolitan Alexander stated “Today, as in all times, the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan contributes to the development of the country, preaching enduring moral values - mercy, honesty, compassion, love for one’s neighbour, patriotism. The bishops, clergy and believers will continue to carry out significant activities to establish brotherly love and mutual respect in society, develop culture, preserve the rich historical heritage and strengthen fraternal ties between the two great countries – Kazakhstan and Russia”.
