Bucharest-Romania: “The declaration of religious affiliation is a personal act of confession of the faith in full freedom and responsibility. Let us not regard this confession of faith as unimportant or implied. On the contrary, this confession is very necessary for the present and the future of Romania ” stated Patriarch Daniel of Romania on the 9th of May 2022.

He further added that “Whether we self-review or receive the official reviewer, we must not be ashamed to confess our faith and that of our ancestors, our spiritual and ethnic identity,”. The Patriarch urged believers to participate in the Census of Population and Housing and to declare their religious affiliation.

The deceleration was made in the light of the on-going  2022 Romanian census that began on on the 1st of February 2022.
