Yerevan-Armenia: Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan has suspended his spiritual duties to focus on his role in the “Tavush for the Motherland” movement and the ongoing Armenian uprising, according to the Armenian Apostolic Church.
The Archbishop’s request to temporarily step back from his religious service was approved by the Catholicosate of All Armenians. While his episcopal title remains, his administrative and church duties have been terminated.
This decision comes after Archbishop Galstanyan played a prominent role in the Tavush movement, which protests recent border agreements with Azerbaijan. He has also been a vocal participant in the larger Armenian uprising.
