Serbian Patriarch Hosts Children from Kosovo and Metohija

Belgrade-Serbia: On January 21, 2025, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije hosted a special lunch for children from Kosovo and Metohija in the Parish House of the Church of Saint Sava in Belgrade.

The Patriarch expressed his desire to celebrate his name day in Kosovo and Metohija but ultimately decided that inviting the children to Belgrade would be more appropriate for this year. He expressed hope that the celebration could be held in the Peć Patriarchate next year.

The lunch was attended by various dignitaries, including Bishop Theodosius, Bishop Hilarion, Prince Philip and Princess Danica Karađorđević, and several prominent Serbian actors, musicians, and artists.

Patriarch Porfirije emphasized the importance of supporting the children of Kosovo and Metohija and commended their achievements, particularly in sports and music.

This gesture highlights the Serbian Orthodox Church’s continued commitment to supporting the Serbian community in Kosovo and Metohija.
