Russian Orthodox Church Delegation Visits Republic of Srpska

Belgrade-Serbia: Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, led a delegation to the Republic of Srpska on November 18, 2024.
During the visit, Metropolitan Anthony met with President Milorad Dodik to discuss various topics, including the state of world Orthodoxy, the ongoing persecution of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine, and the challenges faced by Orthodox Christians in other countries, such as the Baltic states.
President Dodik expressed gratitude for the visit, emphasizing the strong bond between the Serbian and Russian peoples and their respective Churches. He highlighted the fruitful cooperation between the state authorities and the Church in the Republic of Srpska.
The delegation also visited the construction site of the Russian-Serbian Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord and the accompanying spiritual and educational center.
This visit underscores the deep-rooted ties between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Serbian Orthodox Church, as well as their shared commitment to preserving Orthodox traditions and values.
