Russian and Macedonian Orthodox Churches Strengthen Ties

Moscow – Russia: A high-level meeting took place on July 23,2024, between representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archdiocese. Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR), met with Hieromonk Athanasius (Arsosky) to discuss enhancing cooperation between the two churches.
Key topics of discussion included potential collaborations in the publishing sector and other areas of mutual interest. The meeting also saw the participation of Archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, Deputy Chairman of the DECR.
This engagement signifies a continued effort to strengthen the bond between the Russian and Macedonian Orthodox Churches.
