Romanian Orthodox Church Opens New Speech and Hearing Centre in Argeș

Bucharest- Romania: Archbishop Calinic of Argeș and Muscel blessed the hearing and speech impairments services to be provided by the Orthodox Christian Mission in the village of Mănicești in the Argeș County on the 12th of February, 2022.
Mihai Grecu, president of the National Association of the Deaf in Romania commended that “After the Revolution, we found openness from the Romanian Orthodox Church. Since 1996 we have had the first priest who knows sign language. We are people just like you, we live among you, we only differ in the language we use”, reports Basilica News Agency.
The care unit consist of a church, a chapel and space for the care of residents.
