Ohrid- Macedonia: Metropolitan Mark of Berlin and Germany, the eldest hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR), is currently on a pilgrimage to holy sites within the Macedonian Orthodox Church-Ohrid Archbishopric.

Metropolitan Mark’s pilgrimage began with a visit to Archbishop Stefan of Ohrid, the primate of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, on February 10th at the Archbishop’s residence, according to the Skopje Diocese.

The following day, February 11th, Metropolitan Mark celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the St. Clement of Ohrid Cathedral in Skopje, commemorating the feast of St. Ignatius the God-bearer. He was joined by clergy from his own Diocese of Berlin and the local Skopje Diocese, with both local faithful and pilgrims accompanying him in attendance.

Later on February 11th, Metropolitan Mark and his group of pilgrims visited the historic 11th-century Lesnovo Monastery, a significant spiritual center for the Macedonian Church. He was greeted warmly by Metropolitan Ilarion of Bregalnica, the local diocesan hierarch, and they shared a meal together.

Continuing his pilgrimage, Metropolitan Mark and the pilgrims visited the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos Eleusa Monastery in Veljusa and the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos and St. Leontius Monastery in Vodocha on February 12th. The visit highlights the connections between ROCOR and the Macedonian Orthodox Church-Ohrid Archbishopric.
