Patriarch Porfirije Opens the 196th Anniversary Celebration of Matica Srpska

Novi Sad- Serbia: On the 16th of February, 2022, Patriarch Porfirije opened the 196th Anniversary celebration of Matica Srpska, the oldest literary, cultural and scientific institution of the people of Serbia. The session was dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Jakov Ignjatović, the  celebrated Serbian novelist.

Matica Srpska is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental and cultural-scientific national institution in Serbia. It was founded in June, 1826.
