Patriarch Neophyte of Bulgaria Hospitalized

Sofia – Bulgaria: In an official announcement on 29 November 2023, the Office of the Holy Synod reports that His Holiness the Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan Neophyte of Sofia has been hospitalized at the Military Medical Academy (MMA) in Sofia, Bulgaria, due to a lung disease.
The Holy Synod urgently appeals to the clergy and the faithful, beseeching them to unite in heartfelt prayers for the swift recovery and complete restoration of the esteemed leader of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. The First Saint of our Native Church requires the collective support of God-loving people during this challenging time.
In light of the situation, the Holy Synod emphasizes the importance of relying solely on information disseminated by the official channels of the BOC-BP.
