Antakya – Turkey: H H Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II of Antioch, the Primate of the Syrian Orthodox Church expressed solidarity with the crisis in Turkey during his visit to President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan on February 20, 2023. His Holiness was accompanied by their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Philoxenus Yusuf Cetin, Patriarchal Vicar of Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, Mor Gregorius Malke Urek, Patriarchal Vicar of Adiyaman and Environs, and Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.

The visit was made during His Holiness’s visit to Antakya after the severe earthquake that ruptured the region.
