Orthodox Clergy and Faithful Killed in East Arsi Zone of Oromia Regional State in Ethiopia

Addis-Ababa-Ethiopia: On Tuesday, September 26, 2023, in the district of Onqolo Wabe, clergy, servants, and faithful of Belo Church of God the Father were gruesomely killed during the night (from 10:00-11:00 PM) through a targeted attack in the diocese by gunmen. The assailants first entered the home of the Rector and killed his wife and child, though the Church’s administrator escaped. Afterwards, they killed Mhr. Dawit Getachew, Abeje Kebede, Moges Kinfe, Mersha, Shimelis Tesfaye, Biruk, Emebet Seme and Priest Zerihun. The wounded receiving treatment include Yirga Moges, Bayu Kadaye, Miheret Belay-yigbaw, Ebute Webshet, and Amele Mihret.
