Mor Chrysostomos Mikhael Shamoun Enthroned as Archbishop of Mount Lebanon and Tripoli

Beirut– Lebanon: In a solemn ceremony held at St. Jacob of Seroug in Bauchrieh on 26 November 2023, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II led the Installation Service of His Eminence Mor Chrysostomos Mikhael Shamoun as the Archbishop of Mount Lebanon and Tripoli.
HE Mor Chrysostomos Mikhael Shamoun replaced Mor Theophilus Georges Saliba, who retired from his position earlier this year.
The grand procession, a significant part of the installation service, featured three archbishops escorting the newly appointed Archbishop through the gathered crowd. The ceremony’s highlight was the reading of the commendation letter, officially declaring Mor Chrysostomos Mikhael Shamoun as the Archbishop of Mount Lebanon and Tripoli.
During his address, His Eminence thanked the Lord for entrusting him with the new responsibility and humbly sought discernment and wisdom to lead the flock towards holiness.
In addition to the members of the Holy Synod, the installation service was attended by various officials and representatives from sister churches, marking a momentous occasion in the ecclesiastical community. The event underscored the unity and commitment of the church leaders toward the spiritual guidance and well-being of their congregations.
