Springfield – VA: His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA) will concelebrate the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy with His Beatitude Archbishop Stefan of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. This historic service will mark the OCA’s official recognition of the world’s newest autocephalous Orthodox Church.

The concelebration is the culmination of preparations that began with Metropolitan Tikhon’s public recognition of the Macedonian Orthodox Church at the 21st All-American Council, which took place from July 14-18, 2025, in Phoenix, AZ. Several other hierarchs and clergy of the Orthodox Church in America are also expected to participate in the service.

The liturgy will begin at 9:00 AM at St. Nicholas Cathedral, located at 3500 Massachusetts Avenue NW, in Washington, D.C. The Archdiocesan Choir of Washington, D.C. will provide the liturgical responses.

Adding to the spiritual significance of the event, the Hawaiian Myrrh-Streaming Iveron Icon of the Mother of God and the holy relics of the newly canonized Righteous Olga of Kwethluk will be present and available for veneration by the faithful.
