Metropolitan Geevarghese Pachomios of Malabar Visited the Church of St. Philip the Apostle in Sharjah

Sharjah – UAE: Metropolitan Geevarghese Pachomios of Malabar (Malankara Orthodox Church) visited St. Philip the Apostle in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates of Russian Orthodox Church on 08 November 2023. Metropolitan was recived by the rector of the parish, Archimandrite Alexander (Zarkeshev). Father Gijo Thomas accompanied Metropolitan during the visit.

Archimandrite Alexander (Zarkeshev) spoke about the history of the construction of the first church of the Russian Orthodox Church on the Arabian Peninsula and gave them a tour. Representatives of the Malankara Church examined the interiors of the Orthodox Church in the name of St. Philip the Apostle with great interest, the parish website reports .

At the end of the visit, Archimandrite Alexander (Zarkeshev) presented Metropolitan Geevarghese Pachomios of Malabar with an icon of the Mother of God as a memorial gift. The guests warmly thanked the rector and wished the entire parish well-being and God’s help.
