Malankara Church Priest Held for Abusing Minor Girl

Malankara-India: A priest of the Malankara Church (Indian Orthodox Church) in Pathanamthitta district was arrested a few days back for sexually abusing a minor girl. The girl was taken to the priest for counselling due to distraction from her studies. However, the priest abused the girl twice at two different locations.

The local school leadership lodged a complaint through Childline as the girl was reluctant to go for further counselling sessions as a result of the traumatised experience she underwent.
