The Holy Scriptures teach us in the Psalm 90:10 that “Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow for they quickly pass, and we fly away.” If only we really would meditate on that teaching and seek Him in all the days we are allotted here on earth. Recently, I heard a eulogy at a funeral given by a clergyman of higher rank. In his words, he alluded to the deceased individual having an untimely death, and he made no reference to the Resurrection of Christ. Needless to say, this perspective and omission is foreign to the mindset of orthodox Christian doctrine.
