Addis Ababa- Ethiopia: The Holy Synod of Ethiopia extended an apology in a statement on  July 06, 2023, to the archbishops, the scholars, and the people of Tigray.

In Its announcement, the Holy Synod of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, apologized for not releasing a statement to stop the war, for not physically inquiring into the wellbeing of as well as for not consoling the archbishops, the scholars, and the people of Tigray as a whole during the war while there was a possibility of travel, and for not bringing forth much needed humanitarian aid in time after peace was brokered.
