Belgrade-Serbia: Holy Council of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church Expressed its Concern Regarding the Suffering Ukrainian Orthodox Church in its session that was held in Belgrade from 14 to 20 of May 2023.

Press release of the Holy Council of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church says:

“The Parliament also paid attention to the spiritual and geopolitical consequences of the war conflict in Ukraine. The subject of the suffering of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church by the current authorities in Kyiv, the confiscation of its property, temples and monasteries, the displacement of monks, the persecution of certain archbishops and the deprivation of its members of basic human rights and freedoms guaranteed by international conventions was discussed in particular. On this occasion, the Parliament once again raises its voice in defense of disenfranchised and persecuted brothers of the same faith, appealing to the relevant international institutions to prevent this injustice”.
