Georgian Church Official Meets EU Ambassador, Discusses Integration and Values

Tbilisi -Georgia: On June 17,2024, Metropolitan Theodore (Chuadze), a senior cleric in the Georgian Orthodox Church, met with EU Ambassador to Georgia Pavel Herchinsky. Their discussion focused on Georgia’s pursuit of European Union membership and the importance of traditional Christian values.
The meeting highlighted Georgia’s ongoing efforts towards European integration. Both parties acknowledged the significance of continued cooperation between Georgia and the EU for mutual benefit.
Metropolitan Theodore also emphasized the importance of family and the preservation of traditional Christian values for the Georgian people. This aligns with the views of some within the EU who advocate for the protection of Christian heritage in Europe.
The meeting concluded with an expression of hope for continued fruitful cooperation between Georgia and the European Union.
