Catholicosate of Cilicia Appoints New Pontifical Vicar for Cyprus Diocese

Antelias – Lebanon: The Armenian Catholicosateof Cilicia has announced the appointment of Archbishop Komitas Ohanian as the new Pontifical Vicar of the Armenian Diocese of Cyprus. This decision was made by His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, and the official letter was issued on July 22, 2024.
Archbishop Ohanian brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served in various monastic and diocesan positions across Syria, Greece, and Venezuela. He is a graduate of the University of Thessaloniki, where he completed his theological studies.
In a related announcement, the Catholicosate has named Very Reverend Father John Saghdejian as the pastor for the Armenian community in Limassol and Paphos, Cyprus.
His Holiness Catholicos Aram I extended its blessings to both appointees and expressed confidence in their ability to serve the Armenian community in Cyprus effectively.
