Catholicos Aram I Presses Iran for Help on Artsakh, Calls for Armenian Return

Antelias – Lebanon: On June 18, 2024, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I received the Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon, Moujtaba Amani, accompanied by embassy political officials.

They discussed the delayed Lebanese presidential election during the meeting and exchanged their opinions.

Addressing the issue of Artsakh, His Holiness highlighted the right of return for Artsakh Armenians to their homeland under international protection, the urgent release of Armenian political prisoners in Azerbaijan, and requested Iran’s intervention, noting the historic ties and goodwill between Iran and Armenia.
