Archimandrite Daniel (Lepisk) Consecrated as Bishop of Tartu (Estonia)

Tallinn- Estonia: On February 4, 2024, on the 35th Sunday after Pentecost, the feast of the Council of New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church, Metropolitan Eugene of Tallinn and All Estonia celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral of Tallinn, reports Patriarchia.ru.
During the service, Archimandrite Daniel (Lepisk) was consecrated as Bishop of Tartu, vicar of the Tallinn diocese.
Concelebrating with Metropolitan Eugene during the Liturgy were: Metropolitan Innokenty of Vilna and Lithuania; Bishop of Narva and Prichudsky Lazar; Bishop Sergius of Maardu, vicar of the Tallinn diocese; Bishop Ambrose of Trakai, vicar of the Vilna diocese; clergy of the Tallinn and Narva dioceses.
At the end of the service, the Primate of the Estonian Orthodox Church directed Bishop Daniel of Tartu to the service and presented him with the bishop’s staff. According to tradition, the newly ordained bishop gave the first archpastoral blessing to the believers.
Then Metropolitan Eugene addressed the believers with an archpastoral word.
The day before, on February 3, Metropolitan Eugene led the ceremony of naming Archimandrite Daniel (Lepisk) Bishop of Tartu at the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Concelebrating with His Eminence were Bishop Lazar of Narva and Prichudsky and Bishop Sergius of Maardu.
The clergyman elected to the episcopal service addressed Metropolitan Eugene and the bishops who served with His Eminence with a protege speech.
The rite of naming and consecration were performed in accordance with the decision of the Synod of the Estonian Orthodox Church on January 29 of this year, approved by the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on February 3 of this year. (magazine no. 1).
