Archbishop of Cyprus Suspends Unvaccinated Priests

Nicosia- Cyprus: Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Cyprus has suspend 12 unvaccinated priests. The priests were suspended as they refused to get vaccination for Covid-19. The Archbishop warned that the suspension may extend up to six month or even result defrocking of the priests.

Church of Cyprus To Take Strict Measures Against Hierarchs and Clergy Disobeying Synodal Decisions

The head of the Cypriot Orthodox Church has been a vocal advocate of the covid-19 vaccination and he has openly supported the efforts of the Government in vaccination campaign. The Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus has also issued a statement in favour of vaccination.
