Metropolitan Timothy of Debar-Kicevo Entered Eternal Rest

Ohrid- Macedonia: The Macedonian Orthodox Church mourns the loss of a revered spiritual leader, Metropolitan Timothy of Debar-Kicevo, who passed away on November 25, 2024.
Born in 1951, Metropolitan Timothy dedicated his life to serving the Church. He held various positions, including lecturer at the Faculty of Theology, rector of the Theology Seminary, and Metropolitan of Australia. However, he is most recognized for his tireless efforts in revitalizing the Debar-Kicevo Diocese.
Under his guidance, numerous churches and monasteries were restored, including the iconic St. Clement’s Monastery at Plaoshnik. He also established the “Kaneo” publishing house, which produced numerous religious texts and liturgical books.
Metropolitan Timothy was a tireless advocate for the Macedonian Orthodox Church, working tirelessly to secure its recognition and independence. He was a respected figure both within the Church and in the broader society, known for his wisdom, humility, and unwavering faith.
His passing is a significant loss for the Macedonian Orthodox Church and the entire Macedonian people.
