Serbian Patriarch Blesses Water Polo Team for Olympics (Reigning Olympic Champions)

Belgrade-Serbia: Serbian Patriarch Porfirije bestowed his blessings on the defending Olympic water polo champions as they prepare to defend their title at the Paris Olympics. The team, known for their exceptional performance and unity, received encouragement from the spiritual leader of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

The Patriarch met with the team at the historic Saint Sava Memorial Church on July 23,2024. He commended their achievements and expressed confidence in their ability to bring home another gold medal. In recognition of their accomplishments, the team presented the Patriarch with a Serbian national team tracksuit.

Serbia’s water polo team clinched the gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, solidifying their position as one of the world’s top water polo nations.
