Ecumenical Patriarchate Strengthens Ties with Lithuania in Metropolitan Emmanuel’s Visit

Vilnius– Lithuania: For the second time this year, Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon visited Lithuania’s Prime Minister, Ms. Ingrida Šimonytė. The meeting was held on July 17, 2024, during which cordial discussions touched upon matters concerning the Exarchate and current issues of mutual interest. Metropolitan Emmanuel expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Lithuanian government for their support of the Patriarchal Exarchate. Exarch Justinus Kiviloo also took part in the meetings.
Ecumenical Patriarchate Representative Meets Lithuanian Prime Minister, Clergy
Prime Minister Šimonytė reciprocated the appreciation, extending her thanks to His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, the Holy Synod, and Metropolitan Emmanuel himself for the revitalized presence of the Mother Church in Lithuania.
This visit by Metropolitan Emmanuel signifies the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with Lithuania and its Orthodox Christian community since the official agreement of cooperation between the Patriarchate and the state in 2023.
