Yerevan-Armenia: On December 8, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, welcomed Mr. Andrew Turner, the newly appointed Canadian Ambassador to Armenia, at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. Expressing hope for strengthened ties, His Holiness congratulated Ambassador Turner on his role in fostering closer relations between the two countries through the establishment of the Canadian Embassy in Armenia.

During the meeting, His Holiness conveyed gratitude for Canada’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide and their support for Armenia. Discussions encompassed Armenia’s security challenges, the rights of displaced Armenians from Artsakh, and the preservation of Artsakh’s cultural heritage. His Holiness expressed optimism, highlighting the crucial role of the Armenian community in Canada as a bridge between nations. Ambassador Turner affirmed his commitment to deepening Armenian-Canadian cooperation and addressing regional challenges for the establishment of peace.
