Basilica News Agency, Trinitas TV Producers Receive Radar de Media Excellence Awards

Bucharest-Romania: The Basilica News Agency of the Romanian Patriarchate received well-deserved recognition for its consistent and commendable activity during the 2023 Radar de Media Awards Gala on 07 November 2023. The prestigious event, organized by Myosotis Media Group, took place on Tuesday evening, celebrating outstanding contributions to media and broadcasting.
The Director of the Basilica News Agency, Aurelian Iftimiu, who is also a patriarchal adviser, expressed his joy and gratitude during the awards ceremony. He highlighted the agency’s 15 years of dedicated service and its commitment to promoting honest journalism with Christian nuances, rooted in the values of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
Aurelian Iftimiu acknowledged the visionary perspective of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, who founded the Basilica News Agency 16 years ago, recognizing the public’s need for information about the activities of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
The gala also recognized other notable figures, including Vasile Bănescu, the spokesperson for the Romanian Patriarchate, and TV producer Cosmin Iulian Cârstea, both awarded for their shows at Trinitas TV. Nominees included renowned Romanian priests, Fathers Vasile Ioana and Constantin Necula.
Vasile Bănescu received the Radar de Media trophy for his show “Faith and Culture,” emphasizing that the Christian faith is a friend of reason. He expressed gratitude for the award, considering it a recognition of Trinitas TV’s role as a unique cultural, social, natural, and religious media pole in the Romanian media landscape.
Cosmin Iulian Cârstea was honored with an Excellence Award for his show “The Word of God for Us.” He attributed the success of the show to Christian values, emphasizing that Christian values provide a solid foundation for any healthy society.
The Radar de Media Awards Gala also acknowledged the contributions of other individuals, including Father Vasile Ioana, recognized for promoting authentic culture in mass media, and Father Constantin Necula, designated as the Media Person of the Year. The gala celebrated figures from various fields, including operatic soprano Felicia Filip, television personality Dan Negru, and doctors Constantin Dulcan and Vlad Ciurea.
The event, now in its 12th edition, was presented by Simona Țăranu and Claudiu Dumitrache and broadcast live by Radio Romania 3Net – Florian Pittiș and Cinemaraton television. The Radar de Media Awards Gala is organized by Myosotis Media Group and produced by GMR Media. It takes place with the participation of the Union of Professional Journalists from Romania and the Romanian Broadcasting Society.
