Russian Orthodox Church Representative Visited Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II

Syria-Damascus: The representative of the Russian Orthodox Church, Archimandrite Philip (Vasiltsev) was received by His Holiness Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II of Antioch, the Primate of the Syrian Orthodox Church on 17th May 2023 at the headquarters of the Syriac Orthodox Church in Damascus.
Archimandrite wished His Holiness all the greetings of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and conveyed the message from His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. During the conversation, various topics related to inter-orthodox and inter-Christian dialogues were discussed. The Russian representative also mentioned the persecution of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Ukraine. Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem explained the structure and workings of the Syrian Orthodox Church to the representative. At the end of the meeting, they also exchanged memorable gifts.
The meeting was also attended by Metropolitan Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Assistant.
