Patriarch Ilia to Observe Enthronement Anniversary and His Birthday Without Celebration Due to Conditions in Ukraine and the World

Tbilisi -Georgia:  Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia His Holiness Ilia II through a statement on 11 December 2022 informed that his enthronement anniversary (25 December) and birthday (04 January) will only be celebrated in a limited manner.

This decision was taken in considering the difficult situation in Ukraine and the world. Statement added that “it is not planned to invite heads of churches, their representatives or lay people”.
