Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Aleppo Visited Newly Enthroned Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Aleppo

Aleppo-Syria: On Wednesday, October 19th, 2021, Archbishop Aphrem (Maalouli), Archbishop of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Aleppo, Alexandretta, and their dependencies visited the newly enthroned Archbishop Boutros Kassis of Syriac Orthodox Archdiocese of Aleppo at his residence. Archbishop Aphrem together with a delegation of priests congratulated Archbishop Boutros Kassis on the occasion of his appointment and wished him a blessed service in the diocese.

The Synod of the Antioch Orthodox Patriarchate has appointed Archbishop Aphrem Maalouli as the Metropolitan of Aleppo, in 2021 as the seat became vacant after the abduction of Archbishop Boulos Yaziji of the Greek Orthodox Church of Antioch in 2013.
