Ukrainian Orthodox Church Marks 10th Anniversary of Primate’s Enthronement

Kyiv – Ukraine: On August 17, 2024, a significant event took place in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church as the Primate, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphrius of Kyiv and All Ukraine, celebrated the tenth anniversary of his enthronement. A solemn service was held at the Holy Assumption Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, attended by numerous clergy and faithful.
The divine liturgy was led by the Primate himself, assisted by several high-ranking bishops. During the service, several clergy were honored for their contributions to the Church, with some being awarded higher ranks and others receiving awards for their personal anniversaries.
Following the liturgy, a special prayer was offered for peace in Ukraine, the deliverance from enemies, and the well-being of refugees and those in need. The Primate also requested God’s mercy for the Ukrainian people, wisdom for the government, courage for soldiers, freedom for prisoners, healing for the sick, and shelter for the homeless.
After the service, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphrius was congratulated on his anniversary, and he addressed the congregation with a word of instruction. He urged the faithful to avoid judging others and to focus on personal improvement through patience and perseverance.
