Roundtable Discussion at Patriarchate of Georgia Addresses Abkhazia’s Modern Realities and Challenges

The event brought together representatives from the Patriarchate of Georgia, the Government of Abkhazia, the Supreme Council of Abkhazia, the scientific community, society, and war veterans.

The primary objective of the meeting was to address the issues related to the conflict in Abkhazia. Regrettably, the Georgian side, which is engaged in an ongoing information war against anti-Georgian forces, still faces challenges in presenting an objective account of the conflict on the international stage. Additionally, an information environment within Georgia has been created that undermines national and state interests and inadvertently or knowingly supports separatist forces.

During the discussion, participants emphasized the importance of securing international support for the just aspiration of the Georgian people: the peaceful restoration of their country’s territorial integrity.
