Jerusalem-Holy Land: The Minister of the Family of Romania, Mrs. Natalia Intotero, visited the Patriarchate of Jerusalem on Saturday, August 17, 2024. She was accompanied by a small delegation, including the Representative of the Romanian Patriarchate in Jerusalem, Fr. Ioannou. During her visit, she sought the Patriarchal blessings of His Beatitude Theophilos III, the Patriarch of Jerusalem, for her country, her delegation, and herself, particularly in her capacity as Minister of the Family.
His Beatitude warmly welcomed Mrs. Intotero, offering words of encouragement and spiritual support. He urged her to overcome the current challenging times and extended an invitation to visit the Holy Lands, highlighting the ongoing work of the Patriarchate, especially in the Gaza region and at the Holy Monastery of St. Porphyrios. “As the Church, we wield the powerful weapons of prayer, dialogue, peace, and reconciliation,” His Beatitude emphasized.
Patriarch Theophilos also underscored the Church’s mission to promote the values of the Holy Bible in an increasingly secular world, advocating for principles that support and uphold the institution of the family, which he described as being rooted in human nature.
As a gesture of goodwill, His Beatitude presented Mrs. Intotero with a symbolic cross, an icon of the Virgin Mary, a silver-plated painting of Jerusalem, and a Jerusalem blessing to accompany her in her duties. He wished her success in her important work to support and strengthen families in Romania.
